Guest August 5th, 2009, 01:20 PM I also have a Bayer Dynamic MCE 86 S II shotgun mic for sale.
The MCE 86 II shotgun microphones can be used for video recordings, lecterns or theatre applications. The microphones are extremely light and rugged and therefore ideal for mounting onto cameras or camcorders. They can be used for outdoor applications and in studios with fish pole booms or as handhelds. The electrostatic transducer element and the hypercardioid/lobe polar pattern result in an excellent polar pattern with high sensitivity. Due to its construction and integrated active filter the microphone is insensitive towards wind and vibrations caused by zoom motors. Each sound source is reproduced absolute clearly. The MCE 86 II can be powered from balanced phantom source. If phantom power is not available the MCE 86 II S version should be used. This microphone can be phantom powered or battery powered with an integrated 1.5 V battery.
Beyerdynamic MCE 86 S II Condenser Shotgun Microphone Features:
High sensitivity
Excellent off-axis rejection
Rugged yet lightweight design
Non-glare durable polymer coating

Greg Chisholm August 6th, 2009, 11:03 AM will this bag fit an EX1? sure would be nice to have a bag that has wheels AND can carry a laptop.
take a look at the link to bhphoto... an ex3 and just about everything else you can imagine will fit in this bag. plus your 17" laptop. an ex1 is smaller than an ex3 plus... the ex1 monitor stows away so YES an ex1 will easily fit.
But the more you put in it the heavier it gets... hence, the trolley.

Ed Kelly August 6th, 2009, 07:10 PM like new peter lisand sticks, ultra light, 100mm bowl. this unit weighs 9lbs and will support the lightest as well as cams over 30 lbs. Very clean used very little, I purchased these sticks because of their lightweight but cant get used to the locking devices, they are like a miller, the locks twist, not quite fast enough for my needs. Unit comes with an adjustable mid spreader, removable spiked feet, and adjustable rubber covered feet for most outdoor terrain or indoor hardwood floors.
I would be willing to talk trade for something on the idea of Manfrotto 1892 sticks or the likes with the lift lever leg locks. I am open to other offers. I have a ton invested in these sticks, they list for over a grand.

Dave Blackhurst August 7th, 2009, 03:15 AM Hi all -
Just wanted to give first crack at these to the DVInfo crew. As everyone probably already knows the older iRivers are becoming hard to find...
I've come into a healthy lot of them, primarily iFP-795's, but I've also got a couple iFP-8xx series, and a couple other sizes of the 7xx series. I'm going trough the lot right now and checking all the functions, rehabilitating them as needed, so they are all working 100% (there are a few failure points with these units, and I've developed the techniques to fix them fairly reliably).
ANYHOW... if you're in the market for the older iRiver for recording wedding vows and the like (they are idea for this), PM me. I hope to be ready to ship these out starting in the next couple of days if anyone's interested, if not, they bring good money on the Bay... like to give fellow DVi'er's first crack though!

Jack Walker August 7th, 2009, 01:16 PM Price reduced to $75, including shipping.
Marshall Staton August 7th, 2009, 03:39 PM New Price $600
Dave Blackhurst August 7th, 2009, 03:57 PM They are pretty much the same functionally and the 8 series is slightly larger overall - larger "shell", but the guts are pretty similar, as is the menu/control interface. If you use one, the other will "work" the same so you don't have to relearn the interface.
Dmitry Futoryan August 7th, 2009, 04:58 PM perhaps I over-estimated my market. Am I asking too much for the indislider?
It was a popular item when I was researching, but maybe I'm missing something.
Any insight on how to best sell this item would be really helpful! Thanks in advance everyone!

Vito DeFilippo August 7th, 2009, 07:41 PM Hey Dave,
(there are a few failure points with these units, and I've developed the techniques to fix them fairly reliably).
Have you had any success fixing problems with the lcd screen? I have one with a band missing down the middle and would love to fix it.
Feel free to email me through DVINFO if you want. I don't want to hijack your thread any more than I already have :-)
Thanks,
Vito

Charles Dasher August 8th, 2009, 08:26 AM Hi Dmitry
Kessler recently introduced the pocket dolly for I believe $499.00. It seems to have a few nicer features then the IndiSlider. I have been considering a slider for a while and I think $400 for a used older model is too close to the new unit.
All the best

Hi Vito - when a part of the LCD goes out, it's a tough fix, as the construction internally is not easy to take apart without destroying the display ribbon cable - that said, what model has the bad display? I've got a pile of "really dead" ones I can experiment on and see if I can sucessfully reemove the display, in which case the repair isn't that hard aside from having to resolder a long chain of connections. It may be doable, but it's taken me some time and experimentation to develop repair techniques - I'll look into this one!
Dave Blackhurst August 8th, 2009, 05:34 PM Dave, which model is the best, if any, and how much are you asking?
Hi Jeff -
I've used both the 7 series and 8 series - I have a slight preference for the 7 series because it's very slightly smaller, maybe 1/8" or less in length and width, but functionally they seem identical to me. Both do the job, but the 7 series seem to command a premium on resale as well. You don't need much more than 128M for most recording purposes, and the Giant Squid mics seem to be popular for these, although I've found a source for some really killer stereo lav pairs, seem to work quite well with these.
I'l have a final inventory shortly, but I've got a bunch of iFP795's (512MB) - probably 7 or 8, at least one 799 (1GB), one 895 (512MB), and one or two 790's (256MB). I'm guessing at around $70-120 for these right now, depending on capacity and cosmetic condition (most look really good anyhow), probably including domestic USPS priority shipping.
Brad Cook August 8th, 2009, 07:07 PM Up for sale is my very well taken care of/lightly used Zoom H4n digital recorder. Like new. Everything comes in the original packaging as if it were new. I'll even throw in new AA batteries.
Why am I getting rid of it? It's WAY more than I need and I'd rather have a more compact device. No trades, so please don't offer.
I am accepting Paypal only. If you plan to use credit card for your payment please add 3% to the total.
Asking $275 (shipped)
Here is the info on the unit:

Vito DeFilippo August 8th, 2009, 08:12 PM Hi Dave,
that said, what model has the bad display?
It's an ifp-899. I can tell it's not the screen, but a connection somewhere, cause if I press on the lcd, some of it comes back to life. I took apart a dead one I had to see if it would give me any clues, but as you said, it was tough to disassemble, and I didn't want to destroy the other one trying to fix it.
Don't knock yourself out, by any means. I just thought maybe you had come across this before.
Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated,
Vito

Bill Wilson August 8th, 2009, 09:24 PM The tripod is a 3021BN Manfrotto tripod in like new condition. The 3063 fluid head has a quick disconnect camera plate, very good condition. The viscous fluid in the head had become thick so the pan & tilt action was quite stiff. I took it apart & finally cleaned off the old fluid that was nearly solid & replaced it with Mobils red grease; the action is a little on the loose side. Isopropyl alchohol will remove the grease very easily & can be regreased with Manfrotto's viscous fluid, quite easily.
The 3063 head has had very little use & is in good condition (no dings or scratches) & comes with an 18" handle. The combination sold new for $350-, I am asking $145- plus shipping of $18-.

Randy Panado August 8th, 2009, 10:00 PM I have an 8 series that has an audible hiss associated with all the audio files. My other one of the same model/settings/firmware doesn't have it. Do you know of any repairs or tricks for that?
I'll forward this link to a friend looking for some irivers as well.
Thanks for giving us first crack :)
Brad Cook August 8th, 2009, 11:38 PM Any SD cards included? If so what size?

Nicole,
The last line of the description says that part of the accessories included is a 1gb SD card. The same card that came with the Zoom. It's already formatted and ready to go.
Thanks.
Trevor Harrison August 9th, 2009, 12:33 AM I have an older version version 6 FCP the FCP studio 2
Doug
I am on tight income and want to find someone who has a unused full license for Final Cut Pro (any version that can be upgraded to Final Cut Studio 3. I am a total beginner low on money and my mom bought my FCE4 last christmas to digitize and edit our 65 Video8 Tapes (using Sony GV-D200). Then she got a Canon HF s10 in April for her trip to England, and now all the money is gone.
So anyone want to help out a beginner director and offer me a cheap or free Final Cut Pro SN full retail?
Thanks all and for the wonder help.
