Just FYI, you used the wrong prefix. You want to use "WTB" instead of "FS".

There are zillions of cams for sale here, but not all are right for everyone. What's your budget, what will you be shooting, what features do you want or need, how will you be delivering? All this goes into your choice.

This is a good place to look for a specific cam, but if you're not sure what you need, you should probably head over to http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/open-dv-discussion/29995-gigantic-camera-should-i-buy-thread.html The last six months or year of posts should point you in the right direction.

Hey sorry about the prefix i was basically asleep when i wrote it sorry. And thanks for the help. My budget right now is not more than 2 grand. I know there are some pretty good cameras for around that price but just trying to find one I like. I like to have complete manual control on as much as i can. And we will be shooting everything from weddings to short action films to commercials and comedies. Thanks again for your help everyone.

Michael, does the light you have left have the filter kit and power adapter?

Sorry never mind, I see now you sold that one...my mistake...I need the newer one.

Jeff, both ights that I had were the original HVL lights.
The only difference between the older ones and the new one is that the new light comes with a gel filter holder for a 3200k filter.

The original light does come with the power adapter, and if you like I can throw in a filter holder and gel that I used for indoor use.
It's from PAG 9983 Filter Kit PAG | 9983 Softlight Diffuser and Filter Kit | 9983 | B&H Photo (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/271876-REG/PAG_9983_9983_Softlight_Diffuser_and.html)

You simply attach whatever filter you need and slide the filter holders onto the HVL barn doors. It works great and I used it all of the time at reception for balancing to 3200k while indoors.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks Michael. I'm torn right now and considering the MicroPro. I just bought the Comer 1800 almost regret it due to the weight with battery, though I know it's a great light. I stopped using the Sony 10/20 due to it's weight.

The Micro Pro would seem to be the better choice for camera balance and weight, and would seem to be a better choice for a second light than the sony that requires another Sony battery.

I'll mull it over, thanks for offering the extras.

BTW, thanks for your review of the Comer 1800, well done.

For two grand you can easily get a new FX7 or a used FX1. I happen to have two FX1s available here: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/private-classifieds/140372-three-sony-fx1s-excellent-condition.html

But there are many, many alternatives right here in this forum if you just read back a bit.

Just so you know the Sony HVL light is exactly the same as the COMER 1800 light, which I now have two myself.

I will say that even though the Sony/Comer lights are large they balanced real well when you mount the light on the cameras handle instead of on the front of the camera. This way the camera doesn't get front heavy. When the light is on the cameras handle the weight is distributed evenly over the center of the camera.

I mount lights this way on my cameras regardless of which light is used.

Hi David,

I think the vision 8 may be a bit overkill for my needs, as I use a Sony ex3. In fact, I could probably get away with a vision 3. I already have a vision 6 and it works just fine, but as I have taken on a bit of extra work my son will need a tripod. Also a 3 or 6 would be a bit cheaper for me, Do you think the 8 will counterbalance with an ex3, what cam do you use on it, maybe a goer who knows?? why are you selling,

Stuart

Looking for a PAL MiniDV Camcorder or Deck for purchase or rent near Stockholm, Sweden.

I recently moved from the US to Sweden. I just landed a gig editing a documentary. I have 25 MiniDV tapes to ingest and all my MiniDV equipment is NTSC, unfortunately.

As long as the camera you're looking to sell can play back tapes shot on a PAL DVX100A via firewire, I'm interested.

Hi Stuart,
Not sure about the EX but I've used this with an XL-H1 its been excellent & very smooth action. The head can take quite a heavy load, its amaaing how heavy a camera can be once you add a large lens, monitor etc etc. The only reason for sale is that a lower back injury has reoccurred & cannot carry heavy loads etc, so I'm selling all my gear & reverting to still photography.

Jeff Emery

Due to health reasons, I am forced to end or at least curtail my video production indefinitely. Therefore, I am selling my Sony HVR HD1000U.

The camera is in excellent condition and comes in its original box with all standard accessories included by Sony. Plus I am including 2 extra generic NP-F970 long life batteries.

I bought the camera from B&H in June 2008. As with all my gear, I have taken care of it extremely well. It's never smelled smoke or tasted water and has been stored in its own case when not in use. Very clean with no signs of wear that I could notice. All functions and ports work like new.

Operation - 6 X 10H
Drum Run - 3 X 10H
Tape Run - 3 X 10H
Threading - 8 X 10H

I am asking $1200. That price includes the camera and all standard accessories in the original Sony box and the two extra long life batteries. I will pay the paypal fees and shipping in CONUS.

If you're interested, please email me at dvinfo@jeffemery.com

I don't get many chances to stop by the forum but I do check my email frequently so you'll have a better chance of reaching me there.

Thanks

Jeff

You have WTB at the beggining of the title to your thread which indicates that you " Want to Buy" . If you are trying to sell a mic you shoud have FS " For Sale" as the prefix to your add title. This could be the reason that you are not getting any responses. Also...asking price? Hope this helps.
