Can you give me some idea of the light loss with this adapter? I know most eat up a stop or two but since this is one of the "elite" adapters I was hoping it would perform better.

MY mom used to live in Austin, worked at a tech firm -- perhaps she has a buddy there who could come check it out and ship it off to me in Eureka, CA.

Glossy screen or matte?

Core Duo or Core 2 Duo?

How much Video RAM?

Thanks,

~ Shaun

I’ll answer your questions when I get home later tonight and can get the info from the Mac itself – I’m not sure on the video ram, and I –think- it’s a glossy screen (though I’m not sure) – I do know it’s 1920x1200.

It’s a Core 2 Duo, Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT (though again, don't know how much VRAM it uses.)

It's identical to the model found here, except for the larger screen resolution and screen size (17"), the drive spins at 7200rpm, not 5400, and I've upgraded the RAM to 4GB.

http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/apple-macbook-pro-2007/4505-3121_7-32465635.html

I also put Leopard on there - though as I'm in the middle of a move across town, I may only be able to find the original 10.4 tiger discs; I -know- the original copy of 10.5 is around here somewhere, but I've been using a backup of the Leopard install DVD lately. It's probably just buried in some box somewhere. I'll keep looking.

I've got a Canon XH-A1 that is barely a year old with TWO extra long life Canon batteries. I have all the original accessories (except the Canon tape) all in the box. The camera was JUST CLEANED and inspected by Canon so it is in terrific shape! Price: $2900.

I used this on one production. Through a strange turn of events, I went from 1 slate to zero slates, to three slates, so I'm selling this one.

This is their top of the line time code slate that lights up when clapped. Comes with slate and carrying case.

Price: $1200

What are the hours on the Z1?
Operation is 37x10
Drum Run 25x10
Tape Run 11x10
Threading 70x10

Camera has had some good use, but I really love the Z1 & know it to be a great work horse.

Zach, can you give some more info about the camera light? What is included? How many W is it? Does it come with a battery? If not, what battery is needed for it? I might be interested (if you are willing to ship to The Netherlands)

75watt bulb, but can dim to about 20watts. No battery.

If you're using large batteries (V-Mount or Anton Bauer Gold Mount) you most likely should have a power tap on the battery plate which this light can be powered off of. If you're using a smaller camera that doesn't have a power tap, you might be able to power it off of a battery belt pack or something like that.

I'll ship anywhere once the payment clears.

Can you give me some idea of the light loss with this adapter? I know most eat up a stop or two but since this is one of the "elite" adapters I was hoping it would perform better.

I get very good results out of my f2.8 lenses. I've used it with 1.2's up to 4.0 on two features and several pro-bono videos and it's been great. I tended to leave the mechanical iris wide open and stop down the lenses. I also use ND filters in daylight to allow for wide open shooting.

Not sure if that answers your question. You do lose a stop but the lenses all perform without vignetting at the correct specs.

I find it hard to believe I can't get a buyer for this camera.

Make an offer!

Les, I wonder if others feel the price would go up $600+ USD after they bought a 20X or 3X lens? Perhaps implicitly you're including a lens in great shape but it doesn't say so in your offer.

Good luck, Michael

Not sure about the XLH1.
I got very sharp imaging from my XL2 and use these lenses on my 5D2 and have been perfectly happy. Compared to my Leitz glass I find far more noticable character in the contrast differences... neither being better but Leitz looks very Leica (which I do like).

I know shooting photo lenses wide open tends to look softer. You also want to really work towards better lighting. Lenses like light range.

I found my 35mm Nikkor 1.4 to be much sharper than my Nikkor 1.2 wide open.
I used the following lenses and short of wonky focus pulling was happy with:

16mm f2.8 zenitar
24mm nikkor f2
28mm Vivitar f1.8
35mm 1.4
50mm Nikkor f1.2 (stopped down to f2)
85mm Nikkor f1.8
135mm Sigma f1.8

the star was the 35mm... the fisheye was very helpful.

I have a canon HV30 in great shape, low hours on the heads, and never used as a deck. Included are all original accessories plus the original box. Also included is an extra battery, lens hood, century optics .3 fisheye, azden SGM-1X mic with cable, and a lowepro camera/laptop backpack. This is pretty much the ultimate starter package! The fisheye is a direct screw on and doesn't require adapters or step down/up rings. Will have pics up soon, but if you're interested I assure you this is an awesome setup. Asking $800. Shoot me offers.

Edit:I'm sure most people know, but the fisheye lens isn't a cheap lens bought at best buy. Its a century optics and runs about $350-400 retail http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/577501-REG/Century_Precision_Optics_0HD_FEWA_43_0HD_FEWA_43_Ultra_Fisheye_HD.html

I will throw in a manfrotto 3001bpro tripod with a manfrotto 3130 head for an extra $50.
