A used XH-A1 is worth more than a PD170 these days (in similar condition).

I'm aware of the value. I lack the cash to purchase the PD170 (new or used) and have hopes that people that frequent this forum take care of their cameras like I do.

I have two vx2100s in addition to the XH-A1, so the PD170 would make a nice compliment.

PD170 is not even a HD camcorder why do you even want to trade something like that for you A1. Just wondering how used is your A1? very beat up or your really taking good care of it. I might have something to trade.

XH-A1 has about 20 hours on it. Like new. I'm just not smart enough to take advantage of all the bells and whistles, even though I have the manual and DVD.

I accidentally ordered TWO of these units and cannot return the 2nd one. Includes the Pioneer BDR-230 Blu Ray burner (8x) and NextStar DX external enclosure along with some other goodies.

BTW, the other drive installed very nicely as the 2nd optical drive in my quad-core Mac Pro. Took about 25 minutes including time to fish out a couple of dropped screws. Works great!

If you really want a PD170 over your A1, and I think you're nuts to, then why not just sell off your A1 and then purchase a used PD170.

After all is said and done, you will have extra cash after you sell the A1 and purchase the PD170.
