Hey Paul - I recently bought a Canon HF200 and at the highest bit rate, it's pretty amazing considering the tiny size. (I'm assuming you want it for water action - no artifacts here.) You should be able to find one under $700. (No I won't sell mine <g>.)

Chuck thanks for the recommendations but there is no Lanc connection. This make the housing options expensive. I do not need a underwater housing only a splash housing and the EWA do not work well since the wet cover is on the camera all the time.

I have narrowed my search to:

Sony
HDR-SR 12, 11, or 10.

And a Sony SPKHCD sport pack.

If anyone want so sell either let me know. I am going to buy this week if I don't hear from anyone.

This way I can keep the camera in the case and have the lanc hooded up and control the camera some what on the deck of a boat when it is wet.

OK I have a near perfect canon XH-A1 for sale. The camera has been collecting dust for nearly a year now. It's hard to say how many actual hours the camera has but it's between 10 to 20 hours of very light use, I would lean more towards 10 hours of use. I would say that this camera is perfect, but it does have a very tiny scratch on the built in mic. The scratch is purely cosmetic and does not effect the camera at all, other wise the camera is in perfect working order. I'm asking $2,400 for the camera plus I will pay for shipping as I live in Alaska. If you would like to see some photos of the camera just let me know. I will try and post some later today. The Equinox housing is too bulky and heavy for this job. The Sony Sport Pack is very light and only $125.
