-I bought this December of '07 last year and shot with it for about 5 days.
-It is the version with the aluminum center post not the newer carbon fiber model.
-The 7" widescreen monitor is composite only but very bright with good off axis viewing, much better than my Marshall.
-I'm 5'11' 175lbs, the vest fits well and would probably be good for people in the 150-200 lb weight range.
-The sled is for V-Mount batteries and includes an IDX EC-1 single charger and 2 IDX Endura 7S batteries.
-The kit also includes the tripod, adjustment tool, monitor hood, and soft case.
-I don't have the video, because it was VHS and I tossed it. Who has VHS anymore?
-Everything is in like new condition except for the soft case which is a little dusty.
-New I paid just over $8000.
-I'm selling for $5500.

Tyler,

I did have some minor split-screen in extremely low light situations when I first bought the camera. I then had the camera calibrated at the JVC Service Center and since then have only seen the faintest hint of split-screen twice, literally, and this was when I first powered up the camera. Both times were in very dimly lit reception halls and the split screen disappeared in less than 30 seconds once the CCDs warmed up. I also had the gain cranked up to 6 or 9 dBs and had the shutter on 1/24th.

Other than those two times the camera performs flawlessly.

I emailed you a link to some footage shot with it, and can send you some pics of the cam as well if you'd like.

Hey All-
I'm selling a Brevis rev 1 adapter with cavision rails, shoulder support, hand grips, and 3x3 mattebox. Also included are 2 Tifen 3x3 filters, .6 and .9ND. The whole shebang comes in a Pelican 1550 Case.

Specifics;
The Brevis is a rev 1 with cf1 cinescreen. It includes the achromat but not the flip module. It doesn't have any of the newer upgrades like externally adjustable vibration, or micro back focus. The battery charger is included and the unit works fine. It was last mounted on an HVX200 and includes both 82mm and 49m step rings.

The rails support is a cavision r15b80, I dont have the numbers for the mattebox, shoulder support, or handgrips.

You can see a picture of the setup here;
http://img126.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=15502_Brevis_122_577lo.JPG

The Nikon lens is not included and for illustrative purposes only. My price is 1000.00.

Thank You

I was relieved of a couple of pieces of luggage in Costa Rica and am stuck without a BP-945/970 Battery/charger. Fortunately (sort of) most of my gear was in a different bag. Does anyone have an extra one for sale. I´m in the country for another month.

Thanks

Hi all

One question to the folks who own one of these jibs. It says on the website that the jib will operate at 8ft and transport at 4ft.

So my question is this:
can you set it up or modify it to operate at varying distances between 4 and 8ft? Or is it only operational at the 8ft length? I'm looking for something around 4 to 5.5 ft and was just wondering, is all.

Thanks!
Cheers
Chris

This jib only works at it's assembled length of 8 feet. It's around 5' 7" from the stand/tripod to the camera end of the jib. There are two bolts that can be removed to fold the arm in half for transport. I actually leave the arm assembled, it fits in my Honda Accord if I put the back seat down.

Looks like my crane was shipped out a couple of days ago and will be received today.

Only bad thing is I already ordered another crane a day before he shipped it out, hmm guess I have two cranes now.

Pretty crappy of him not to reply to his emails, he said on another forum he has the flu and has been working through it. I paid on the 3rd and he didn't ship out until the 23rd. I'm glad nothing horrible happened to him, but it's bad business doing what he did.

One single post on the forum would have let everyone know his situation and would have only taken 30 seconds of his time, and I wouldn't now have 2 cranes.

I just picked up an EX1 for $4350 in perfect condition with 1289 hours on it, but it was all indoor use.

$4350 seems like one heck of a price. How did you manage that? It's not like the 1289 hours are wearing out heads or anything.

Good people, I have the Sony VCL-HG0872 wide-angle converter for sale, complete with it leatherette draw-string pouch and Sony petal hood.

This is a beautifully made and beautifully coated 4 element, 550 gm wide-angle. It'll attach to any camera that has a 72 mm filter thread, but is designed for the FX1/Z1/FX1000/Z5 and so on. New they're £349 and I'm looking for £230.

Almost impossible to tell from new and remarkably doesn't appear to barrel distort at all on my Z1. It's sharp throughout the full zoom range of course so can be left on forever, giving you a 26 - 312 mm zoom on the Z1 and its ilk. I'm in the UK.

tom.

just testing the waters here, if I can get a reasonable price for this package it sells, if not it stays. Just back from Sony
for a full service (back focus, paint peel, battery drain), camera produces amazing video! 189 hours on it. Comes with:

1 bpu-30
1 bpu 60
2 8gb SxS
2 Delkin Efilm readers
firmware is 1.12

of course all original accessories, box and manual. reason for selling, i put myself in a hole
$$$ wise last year, and would prefer to let it go and get something less expensive. I am askiing $6100 shipped for this camera, paypal is negotiable!
I am aware of demo units being available for that price, but you won't get $500 worth of batteries with those, or the adapters to use SDHC cards.
Serious inquiries only please. Canera still has warranty left from Sony until June of this year.

Comprehensive and Professional Canon XL2 Filmmaker’s Package - $3100

This is an excellent condition, complete Canon XL2 filmmaker’s package. I am the original and only user and meticulously put this kit together for high-quality productions. The entire package is in excellent condition and in perfect working order. The completeness and quality of this package is truly a unique find. I have taken meticulous care of everything included.

I am selling this kit because I no longer make use of the camera regularly and would prefer it to be put to use than sit in our production studio. The camera is native 16:9 & 4:3 and has loads of cine-features, and external hard drive that extends record time immensely and allows for timelapse video, plus some awesome lens options included. I used it for educational and documentary productions and it never let me down. The package includes everything from the original kit plus the many additional items I compiled to make this a fully-functional and professional rig.

Orignal camera package approximate value (not including optional mattebox): $7800

XL2 Filmmaker’s Package includes:
• Canon XL2 body (original: $3999)
o Selectable Aspect Ratios and Frame Rates – 60i, 30p, 24p; 16:9 (native) and 4:3
o 3 CCD
o Customizable Cine Looks
o Multi-function Color LCD Viewfinder with eyecup
o Balanced XLR Audio
o Advanced Accessory Shoe
o SMPTE Time Code and Tone
o Total Image Control – user-selectable Master RGB, Setup Level, Master Pedestal, Skin Tone Detail, Clear Scan, Zebra Pattern, Intervalometer, AE Shift / Lock, White Balance, Shutter Speeds, Gain and Aperture Control
o Three Custom Presets
o Hours:
• Lenses:
o Canon 16X Manual lens (with professional focus control) (originally $1150)
• 16:9: 43.1 - 689.6mm

• f/1.6
• 72mm
• Lens hood
o Century Optics .7X wide angle adaptor for 16X lens (originally $650)
• excellent adaptor for wide angle looks without becoming fisheye
o Canon EF lens adaptor (originally $425)
• for Canon EOS still camera lenses (multiplication factor of at least 7.8X in 16:9 mode, 9.6X in 4:3 mode) – meaning your 100mm EOS lens is an effective 780mm lens on this camera; a 300mm EOS lens has an effective 2340mm!!!! This is amazing for wildlife filmmaking!
• Batteries (Li-Ion) and power supplies
o (1) Canon BP-945 (large-sized battery) (originally $60 each)
o (1) Canon CA-920 battery charger and A/C adaptor
o (2) Lenmar BP-945 (large-sized battery) (originally $65 each)
• Excellent condition, excellent charge hold and duration as long as Canon battery
o (1) Lenmar Mach-1 fast travel charger (originally $57)
• Comes with multiple plates for charging many battery types, A/C plug, D/C car-accessory plug (charge from your lighter plug in a car—works great!)

o mint condition
o waterproof and ideal in cold environments (hand-warmer pockets)
o works PERFECTLY
• Canon stereo shotgun microphone
• Accessory Mounting Bracket
• Integrated Shoulder Support
• Canon Wireless Controller / Remote (not pictured but included)
• DVCam cleaning tape
• Manual (shows significant wear)
• (10) Professional, brand-new Sony DVCam tapes
• Focus Enhancements FS-C Portable DTE Recorder (originally $1200)
o Includes belt clip and holder plus rechargeable power supply
o From the Focus Enhancements website (Focus Enhancements (http://www.focusinfo.com/solutions/catalog.asp?id=171):) The Focus FS-C interfaces with your Canon DV or HDV camcorder using a single FireWire cable that passes audio, video, timecode, and control information, allowing you to simultaneously record to disk and tape in HDV or DV mode. It also provides a comprehensive backlit display, menu system, and buttons to give you easy control and management. The Focus FS-C comes with a 60GB hard drive for up to 4.5 hours of DV recording time. You can also extend recording time by linking an additional Focus FS-C unit. A 10-second retro cache feature ensures that you never miss a shot, even in the roughest of conditions. And the Focus FS-C makes it easy to categorize clips by placing them in prenamed folders on the disk while you shoot. No matter which nonlinear editing (NLE) system you have, the Focus FS-C has you covered. When in DV mode, files are recorded to disk as RawDV, AVI Type 1, AVI Type 2, AVI Type 2 24p, Matrox AVI, Canopus AVI, QuickTime, QuickTime 24p, Avid OMF, or Pinnacle AVI, or to 1080i MPEG-2 transport streams (.m2t) when in HD mode. When working with DV clips, simply connect the Focus FS-C to your Mac or PC editing system in the same way you would connect a FireWire hard disk drive and you are instantly ready to edit. No capturing, no file transfer, no file conversion. Just shoot and edit. When working in HD mode, you’re able to work with a growing list of compatible NLE systems. With a removable, rechargeable battery (180 minutes estimated runtime) and advanced features such as time lapse (Available only in DV Mode), retro disk recording, and scene marking, the Focus FS-C Portable DTE Recorder is the perfect DTE companion for handheld shoots. When on location, the power, flexibility, and field upgradability of the Focus FS-C make it second to none. Includes the FS-C v2.0 firmware update: you can record the 1080i-50/60 output from your Canon HDV camcorder in the native QT HDV file format. QT HDV clips can be imported directly into Apple Final Cut Pro without the need for capture or conversion first.

OPTIONAL ADDITION:
I will negotiate a separate agreement if you would also like the mattebox. Otherwise the XL2 package above only includes the lens hood that came with the camera and not the mattebox described below or in the photos.

Orignal Mattebox package approximate value: $2000

Mattebox and accessories for the above lenses fitting on the XL2
o Chrosziel Sunshade/Filter Holder Mattebox (originally $1200)
• Includes French flag for wide angle lenses and 16:9 ratio shooting, 104mm clamp, and (2) 4X4 filter holders (one rotating—ideal for polarizing filters)
o 104mm-to-95mm clamp insert ring (originally $85) (CHR-411-28)
