Hey everyone,

I am selling a bunch of my equipment. As for my credibility: I am fairly close with a couple prominent users here, I have 160 feedback on eBay, and I have NO problem with concluding a sale on here via eBay w/ PayPal as to provide you with payment security. Further, I am alright with you coming in person and checking out the hardware pre-sale--given you live near Orange County, California

Here is what's for sale:

XHA1 + Letus Extreme + Nikon 50mm f1.4 Lens + Nikon 105mm f2.5 Lens w/ UV filter + High-Capacity Battery (NOT SEPARABLE) = $3,820

Details:

XHA1 - Used only a few times, looks absolutely mint. Glass is equally as flawless. I'd say total hours on the heads must be at 30. Comes with all factory accessories, including standard battery, charger, cables, and guide. Will be shipped in factory box.

Letus Extreme - Literally used 4 times. Works absolutely flawlessly--internals are pristine (no dust, etc.). There are some scrapes on the metal casing, but that's because it's easily scratchable (like an iPod backing). Comes with improved Nikon mount, allen wrenches, factory how-to guide, and end caps.

Battery - Purchased with the XHA1, equally as unused.

Lenses - Incredible condition--glass, internals, and casing. Don't know what else to say. They seriously look new.

Ethan,

You still looking for a used setup? I've been rethinking my immediate needs, and I could probably part with my Lowel ViP kit, which would get you part of the way there. It would include:
- 1 Pro Light (AC powered 125/250 Watt) w/ 4-leaf barndoors
- 2 V-Lights (500W) (work well in a softbox)
- 3 Lowel light stands
- Cords
- Silver Tota-brella
- Tota-Frame for 10x12" Gels
- Vipod with Stud Link
- Tota-Clamp
- Lamp-pack with spare bulbs
- Hard-sided, custom-fit carrying case

Similar kits new cost $800 at B&H
Say, $500 + shipping?

Brian,

Thanks for the offer. That doesn't seem like a bad price at all, but I was hoping for something stronger than 500 watts. I'll keep your offer in my back pocket if I can't find anything else.

**EDIT**
The reason I like more powerful lights is because I'd much rather gel my lights to match daylight which tends to cut down the output a bit. That's why I'm fixated on beefy lights.

Hello there...

I have an XH A1 already, but looking for a used one to serve as my backup and second camera at weddings. Don't really need accessories, but if you have a tripod to go along with it I will be certainly interested in taking it off of your hands.

Please e-mail me at dfessak@yahoo.com if you think we can make a deal.

Thanks!

Have for sale a Hague MMC stabilizer also have the balance correction plate. Here is a link to the product page if you are not familiar:

HAGUE Mini Motion-Cam (http://www.b-hague.co.uk/hague_mini_motion_cam_steadicam_type_camcorder_stabilizer.htm)

I actually sold my Merlin because of the Hague but I am not doing much steadicam work anymore, and this has been sitting in my equipment closet since last summer.

Originally with shipping to the US I paid around $140.

I am asking $100 plus shipping, I will pay for paypal.

Thanks,
Todd

To all fellow community members-

Due to deadline being reached, I am no longer entertaining new offers for my equipment. I was only trying to sell for financial reasons and was looking to pay my American Express business card bill due this friday, 1/6/09. I now see no way to make a "safe for buyer" deal take place (me ship, allow inspection, then get paid) in time. The fact that I live in Kauai, makes it that much more difficult to make it happen.

Also, much to my surprise, after getting only minimal responses and no solid commitments for the package/camera, I suddenly have a few, all at the very last moment. (When it rains it pours?)

To Bruce Y. : Thank you for trying to make it happen. I know you had to wait for a commitment on your end before committing. I think I would have had to have gear at UPS yesterday morning in order to get it to you in time for you to have reasonable time to inspect and test it, and then would have needed probably a wire transfer by friday morning to make it happen in time for me. We missed it about a day. I will send email directly to you to further explain.

To Todd K. : You did make contact in time with pretty solid interest. We just had to work out some details and I was to get back to you yesterday after my errands and verifying shipping costs, and verifying my friends ability to help mediate sale in your area in Ohio. Two things: I didn't hear back from my friend until this am, and, when I came home yesterday from errands, sat down to email you and my email account was a mess. Please feel free to verify that roadrunner of hawaii did a major design change yesterday that disturbed my ability to sign in to my account, as well as everyone else out here. Again, please verify so you don't think I'm making this stuff up. Anyway, I amissed my deadline with you too. I will also send you personal message regarding this.

To Elliot L. : You made offer on mic., and based on what you probably read above, I was not able to sell camera separately in time and thus selling mic now would not help my situation, as now that I've reached my dreaded deadline, I might as well keep it. I'm sorry. I'll PM you too.

To: Jonathan B. : Thanks for your call late last night, and thank you for your serious and fair offer via email offer early this am. After only getting text message response from my brother before he left for work only telling me he'll call me later has delayed his ability to help mediate a sale in the Dallas area in time (but when he needed to borrow my life savings of over $50k 8 months ago to save his house, he was quick to call - still waiting to get it back too). This delay wouldn't help meet my deadline either. The other thing, is with all due fairness to Todd K., mentioned above, he was the guy I mentioned was just ahead of you with pretty serious offer and I am in need of contacting after this posting here. Even if I still had time I would still need to give him a chance since I wasn't able to email yesterday as expected. Anyway, I'll PM you too and will be calling you shortly also.

I will send each of you a personal email explaining this more personally.

I am sorry for the long posts, including this one. Since I was desperate to sell and due to the fact that my posts here were low (not appearing well established here), and, the fact that I live on the distant island of Kauai, I was constantly worried that people would not trust my good intentions for wanting to sell in a hurry. What may sound really strange is that even though I've been stressed about paying my bill in time (if you could only see a picture of me two weeks ago and one now - before and after) and am still stressed that I'm going to be late, thus fee'd to death, etc., I actually am more stressed now having to tell everyone that I am pulling out. I am a people pleaser and being an honest remodel/room addition, I can honestly say that that is what really got me into this situation in the first place. There is a reason why I've never had a complaint in my 27 year career. I only hope that I made this somewhat clear during our correspondences and don't leave you feeling like I led anyone on.

Oh how I wish it was only tuesday instead of wednesday.

My sincere apologies and gratitude to all of you who made offers, tried to make offers, and everyone for just looking. You migh see me roaming around the "how the h*** do I get past my editing woes" related forums in the near future.

Thank you and sorry,
Erik Nudd

Here's a thought. The V-lights are small and light enough that you can pretty easily attach two to one lightstand. That gives you 1000 watts combined. I have used this combination behind a rectangular diffusion panel, with good results. It might be a bit awkward to fit all of that inside a Chimera, but it could probably be done.

Of course, that means you'd still need to find a fill, since you'd be using both the V-lights for the key.

Anyway, good luck finding something that will work for you. Let me know.

What lens is it mounted to?

Daniel Patton

In that pic it is mounted to the factory JVC HD100U lens - 16X Fujinon . But I have also used the Matt box on several other cameras/lenses as well.

What camera are you thinking of using the matt box with?

Guys, in this changing economy/market/craft, what do you think the value of a BR-HD50 is today? Seems crazy, I bought it less than two years ago for $2,700. I'd like to sell it and I'm obviously willing to take a loss, but at some point it becomes more valuable to just keep it. It's got low hours, it works perfectly, I have the box, yadda yadda yadda.

What's your take on it?

Thanks in advance,

Eric

I hear you, Eric: I sold my Sony PD150 last year for $1000 (2 large batteries and charger, bag, insanely low hours... yadda yadda) because I thought "I'm not working in SD anymore..."

Well, all of a sudden I realize my VTR reads DVCam but doesn't RECORD DVCam. Only DV. So now when I send tapes off to broadcasters for PSA's and such, I get the "oh, DV... hmmmm... uh..."

Would have been better off to keep it for what I got for it as now I routinely need favours from friends and colleagues so I can output DVCam.

My NEW opinion is: I get/got the write off for it, it owes me nothing, I'm keeping it UNLESS I have ZERO foreseeable use for it (whatever "it" is...)

Good luck and hope this helps...

Hey Eric,

I also feel your pain, we sold that same deck awhile ago and it always hurts to take a hit like that. As for fair value I would look at Ebay and see what they are selling for, it's a catch all solution but realistic. Your lucky at least being in the Bay Area, there are a lot of people and methods to sell gear. I grew up there, nice area.

Good luck!

Thanks guys. I'm not really freaked about it. Like you say Daniel, fortunately (and also quite unfortunately because I'll never be able to own a home here) I live in a good area. Also thank god I'm still a carpenter full time. Otherwise I might be desperate. I've checked them out on ebay. There are enough for sale up there for $1,800 - $2,000, but I'm not sure they're moving. You're also right Shaun, the day after I unload it I'll probably need it. It's kind of a shame, thing just sits now since I sold my HD200.
