Hello

Got myself a new PC....SUPER FAST...ETC, loaded all my adobe software without any problems.. I connected my Hard Drive which holds my Prem 2.0 projects...start working on one of the projects...but for some reason when I play back the edit on the timeline the sound is gargled and unrecognisable...on most the audio...but for one or two clips..so I connect my camera and playback externally and the sound is fine....then repeat action on my old PC to check the project and the sound is fine.....

What have I forgotten to do? I'm using the same speakers...just swapping them over...and they play fine when playing the samples on windows xp....
Have I not included something in the set up?...

any help will be appreciated...thanx

Hey,

Possibly check your sound settings in Premiere, make sure it is trying to use the right audio output drivers. Since the problem seems to be in premiere only, and not in other windows programs, it is probably a setting somewhere in here.

Never a problem!

There's too many audio settings in there, I had an idea that was the problem because I've had to deal with not being able to figure it out myself at one point :P

Out of curiosity, what drivers were being used and which did you change them to?

Reading between the lines, you are on Vista.

Audio performance on Vista is troublesome. Programs that work fine on XP can suffer on Vista if the program blindly accepts what the OS gives it in terms of audio playback support. This usually means DirectSound drivers.
