What process, software and encoders (workflow) have folks found works best for them producing a good looking final video in the process of taking HDV material from their XH-A1 down to 16x9 SD DVD in the Windows/PC Environment? This could be built into their NLE, or separate encoders.

Wait - just saw the PC environment note above - this is for the mac and FCP - so I apologize in advance.

The method I've used so far is from this webpage and the few tests look good but I'm still not sure if it's taking too long having nothing to previously compare the process to.
