I have some 3d text with stone detail on it which is very crisp in photoshop, but when i import to premiere it is totally destroying the quality. Any idea why? I tried a TGA and PSD and they look equally as bad, but in PS they are crystal clear

Need more details. What format is your project? DV or HDV?
Is your monitor set to draft or high quality preview?

Which version of Premiere? You may well have to resize your Photoshop file because P v6.5 can only deal with still image files up to a certain size. Also, probably best to save as a tiff before importing, and make the aspect ratio match your movie.

PPro 2.0 monitor detail on highest quality. Its a DV 16:9 project.

Nathan,
Is this just during preview, or when you render the footage?

DV is 720x480 interlaced pixels with a 1:5 compression - so it's never going to look 'crisp'. But is it worse than that?

Nathan,
Is the image you are working with at a much higher resolution than the project? Premiere could just be handling the downconversion badly.
