I'm looking for a good quality TFT LCD monitor that I can use with Vegas while video editing, and that can also serve as a decent monitor for general use and occasional gaming. I'm considering something in the 20" inch range so I can keep it reasonably affordable. Any suggestions?

Doesn't have to be wide screen, though I would like to go that route. DVI at a minimum, HDCP if I can afford it.

A Dell 24" 1920 X 1200, with Component, DVI/ HDCP? (or similar?). Just a shade over $1000 NZ, guess about $700 or less US.

I have that monitor, and I use it for video previewing when I'm editing with Final Cut, and I have my xBox 360 hooked up via the RGB Component, and I'm really happy with it! I actually take it on shoots, and use it as a field monitor, although I haven't been able to figure out how to hook my the XLH1's HD feed into the Component inputs.

Anyhow... just thought I'd give my approval! ;-)

What's the issue with the HD feed from the H1? I've got the A1, so am not familiar with it's finer points.

Well I'm sure it's just ignorance as I haven't really tried terribly hard. :-P But from what I've seen the only HD feed is the HD-SDI BNC output, and nothing with Component.

I did however just talk with a buddy of mine who said he's using this monitor as well, and was able to find an HD-SDI to DVI converter. This way he could hook it up to the DVI port that your computer usually hooks up in at full 1:1 resolution.

I have yet to try this, but it seems feasible. I'm pretty sure I'm going to switch the the G1 or A1, and I know they have a pretty simple component output setup, so it shouldn't be a problem once I make the swap.
