I understand AVCHD uses H.264 scheme, but what is the difference from H.264 recorded with AVCHD cams to H.264 files that are recorded with HD1000 or encoded with Mac OS X?

Is it like the differences between native raw DV stream and DV "codec" on QuickTime?
