Attached is an audio clip from a project I'm working on. It's pretty static ridden. It was recorded quite a while ago, and I've improved my acquisition since, but I still need to use the clip - and a few others that have the same problem.
I don't have FCS - only FCE 2.02 and Garage Band 4.1
I was able to use a couple of different filters to reduce the static when she is not talking, but it is still too evident when she is talking. The filters I used so far are:
1. Expander/Noise Gate
Threshold: -30
Ratio: 1.77
Attack Time: 5
Release Time: 100
2. 3 Band Equalizer
Low Freq: 501
Low Gain: 12
Mid Freq: 1500
Mid Gain: 0
High Freq: 10000
High Gain: 0
3. Notch Filter
Freq: 8000
Q: 6
So where do I go from here? I'd like to refrain from a large expenditure right now, so shareware, freeware and free/low cost plugins are preferred. Any help would be appreciated.
And no, re-recording the interview isn't an option. I wish it were...
