Checked out Ty Fords review of this kit (excellent) and the Sign Video web site and am still short of an answer.

I can't quite figure out how, exactly, you connect/ configure two of these units to give you 7 - 8 seperate inputs (as stated by SV) with one stereo pair of O/P's.

I'm obviously missing something or maybe the answer is just "assumed" by the audio Pro's who would normally buy this kit (the first contributor who fires back that a "Pro" would buy a brace of SD 442's instead, gets a gummy bear, OK? I simply do not have $6K sitting round waiting to be spent on mixers at this time - much as I would love to).

Anyone know how it's done?

Thanks in advance,

CS

Finally answered this in part (if not whole) by checking the Sound Devices web site to fill in the holes left by Sign Video's posted info.

Having established what a "mix bus in" actually is (sort of) and verifying that the ENG 44 does actually have one (of indeterminate characteristics) I can only assume one of the many O/P's on a 44 can indeed supply another 44's MBI with the necessary.

My favourite hate to date has been Camera Support manufacturers web sites, which seem to specialize in minimal info provision. Sign Video are pretty much up there.

At the other extreme, Sound Devices even post the entire Operation manual for the 442 (amongst other things) - shame about 50 % of it goes straight over my head!

Still can't afford a 442 tho'.

Thanks anyway,
