The manual says if I plug my VCR into my HVX, put the camera in VCR mode, and set 1394 OUT to ON, and plug a 1394 cable into my PC I can dub, but it's not working.

I can see the VCRs video in the HVX monitor, so it's getting in, but I can't manage to capture the output.

I'm using Premiere to capture, and I'm trying to capture it as DV footage. What am I doing wrong.....?

Thanks.

haven't tried with my HVX, but I have done "pass-thru" with other cameras. Don't you need to be in "Tape" mode vs. P2? And also try taking the tape out

Try putting the camera in TAPE mode instead of P2 mode first.

one other thought - you should have Premier set up to capture just as if you were capturing tape from the camera. one quirk I've seen is to make sure you connect the camera and turn it on to let Windows "recognize" it, before you start Premiere.
