Another vote for French Connection -- probably the best chase scene ever.

Diva (a guy on a moped being chased by a man on foot, both going up a down escalator -- really cool!)

Perhaps one of the highest regarded car chase scenes in recent history is in the Bourne Identity. Actually all of the Bourne movies provide egde of your seat, realistic car chase scenes.

Another is of course...The Chase with Charlie Sheen:)

Jay

OOOPS, foot chase scenes I see!

Either way, Bourne provides astonishing real life scenes in that category too:)

How about the chase with the huge crane vs the fire engine in Terminator 3? All the more impressive since most of it was real instead of CGI...

And of course the big chase at the end of The Road Warrior with the gasoline tanker.

Ah, but those were not foot chases though... think I'll have to edit the title of this thread to reflect the intentions of the original poster.

Ha... you're right! Sorry for not reading the original post more carefully...

The Third Man has a good chase scene on foot, ending in the sewers of Vienna.

Raising Arizona!

the opening scene of Trainspotting (reprised later in the film) has some good elements but in is rather fragmented.

Bullitt was directed by Peter Yates.
Outland by Peter Hyams.

Luke, Leia, Han and Chewie running around in the Death Star.

Being chased by a Terminator.

Being chased by a dinosaur in Jurassic Park (the T.Rex was on foot).

True on the foot comments, sorry (Seven Up's is another with a great car chase!).

Gotta go with French Connection, that entire chase is probably the best ever. Very smart.

Umm...the on-skates chase scene in "Blades of Glory?"

Sorry, I had to mention it. It was pretty funny to see a chase scene in slow motion like that. :-)

Just remembered, the chase through the run-down apartment block in Seven (Se7en?) is pretty good.

After reading this thread I netflixed District 13. What fantastic chase scenes! I've always enjoyed Besson's work and can't believe this one had slipped by me. Obviously, though, it didn't slip by the last bond flic.

The Bourne Ultimatum, when he's leading the reporter through the mall and when he's chasing the assassin to save Nikki.

Another one of my favorites is in The Last of the Mohicans, but part of that one is in a canoe (ooooh, I smell a new category, best canoe chases).
