Hey all,
Finally got the two to work together on a Macbook Pro! It takes a little bit to do, but I finally got it to work. The problem is that your going to need to have a windows os to get it to do this.
Step #1:
Dowload the ALL updates for the P2 Store available via Panasonic and update all the Firmware for the device. You will also need to update all the windows drivers as well along with the P2 Maintanence program thats available.
Step #2:
Power on the P2 Store and connect it to the PC / Mac (w/parallels et al) and open up the maintanence program.
Step #3:
Go to the Setup tab and towards the bottom on the right side, you will see three buttons that will appear like this:
(x) Windows / PowerPC
( ) Mac / Intel P2card
( ) Mac / Intel HDD
*Note* It is what you think, you have to choose for the Intel Mac whether you want to use it as a P2card reader or HDD. Thats the way they did it.
Step #4:
Eject normally and restart into mac, or reconnect to mac, and you are all set. The drive might not pop up on the P2-Viewer and will probably still say that its not recognizing it. Just press ignore, and then open up fcp and you're ready to go!
