Shot a UK public info film on the A1 (25fps, 720p, 34mb download):

It's heavily compressed h.264, blocky compression artifacts are all quicktime's, not visible on the original.

I Converted it to DVCPRO HD 720p 24 and I saw it on a 42" Plasma and it looks even better.

That was really well done. It made me felt like crap at the end, which is what you're supposed to do, so well done. I don't see a lot of "Drive Safe" commercials that actually have some emotion in it, none the less good acting. It was a nice change. Well done.

That was pretty good. Not nearly enough pillow fight footage however, IMO.

I was thinking the same thing, this girl is very beautiful, i'm sure the guy was easily convinced to put his heart into his acting!

That was great, good flow... Any particular preset used in camera? NLE? Audio? which 35mm adapter? Lighting?

How was the slow motion shot? 60i?

Really appreciate all the comments and compliments, thank you!!

It was shot without a 35mm adaptor, I just set shots up to simulate a shallow DOF, with things very close to camera out of focus, etc. I've got the SGpro on order, so hoping to get better DOF effects with that.

It was shot 25F apart from the slow motion which was shot at 50i at about 1/150th sec shutter speed, which I find cleans up the slow motion. It was deinterlaced using ReelSmart, but I set it to field blend rather than interpolate, because it was a lot quicker to render!

The actress was a model who hadn't done any (or very little) acting before, which was amazing because she did a great job, very professional... and cute! Apparently (we found out afterwards) she's a cover girl for Maxim magazine.

I agree, could have had more pillow fight, but I had a lot of it in the early cuts and found it dragged the pace down too much before the jump cut to the crash. Oh well!

Wow, Tim—excellent work. I’ll be studying this! Both your actors did a great job, as well. You couldn’t have found a more perfect girl for the part—she’s lovely in every sense of the word. :)
