Just wondering what is the difference between these two wireless mics. The G2 100 series is usually $500 and I found the EW122PG2 for $400 and after buying a Canon XL2 it would be nice to save the extra $100. I looked up the specs and could not find much of a difference between the two, Does anyone use the cheaper one?

You couldn't find a difference because they all include the same electronics - the different numbers just refer to what is included with the kit. The 122PG2 incudes a cardioid lav which is most often used for live sound applications and is not usually a good choice for video. The 112PG2 is an identical kit except that its mic is an omni lav, usually a better choice for recording applications and broadcast. The 100ENG incudes both bodypack and plug-on transmitters, the 112 and 122 kits leave out the butt-plug.

Do be careful in any of the assortments sold for sound reinforcement - most of them include a diversity receiver that is ac-power only, will not run on batteries, and cannot be attached to a camera.

Great receivers for their purpose, but usually not for video.
