you make my life so hard cause i want one and for this price its a dream came true
can we see compression test between the new version and the Fe version
Jon Wolding September 23rd, 2007, 10:13 AM Will you be posting full res HD footage and stills?
Aaron Pinto September 23rd, 2007, 11:02 AM Ram,
I can answer some of your questions based on what I know at this time:
1- dose it handle the problem withe white wall and bright part in the sky
Yes. This has been confirmed to no longer be an issue.
2- can i shoot on higher shutter speed (like 1/100 or 1/200)
The GG motor runs at the same speed but the Extreme has a new GG element that is much finer that will work with higher shutter speeds. I will test this myself for sure when our units come in here.
3- is the lens mount is still tight with screw
The new lens mount uses 3 screws for tension instead of the single thumb screw found on previous models. This will provide greater lens stability.
5- is it include shipping
I believe Quyen is still offering free shipping. LetusDirect also has free shipping.
Once I get the Extreme in my hands, I'll get some samples posted comparing the Letus Flip to the new Letus Extreme. People are going to be blown away by this thing. Quyen has taken an already great product to new levels. These adapters are going to sell fast so if you are on the fence, I would suggest getting on the growing waiting list.
Paul Watkins September 23rd, 2007, 10:12 PM please post 2 types of footage. indoor and fast motion.
These 2 things define would rich you will be in the next year. LOL.
Oskar Sjodin September 25th, 2007, 12:47 PM Sounds great. Will this adapter come in a version form the cannon XL-h1?
Christopher Drews September 25th, 2007, 06:57 PM Wow - 1/2 stop of light loss!!!
Is there a trade in value for previous customers or say for a fee you could MOD my XL version with an extreme?
-C
Ram Shani September 26th, 2007, 09:17 AM now i see there is Economy version for 900$
the differnce no bettery inclosed

Chris Barcellos September 26th, 2007, 10:50 AM Quyen:
How well does this version work with the HV20. Have you tested it with that camera ?
Barry Green September 26th, 2007, 03:05 PM 1- dose it handle the problem withe white wall and bright part in the sky
Yes, that's fixed provided that you keep a reasonably open aperture (f/1.2 to about f/4 or maybe f/5.6). Stopping down your Nikon/Canon lens to f/5.6 or deeper will bring out the grain.
2- can i shoot on higher shutter speed (like 1/100 or 1/200)
1/120 is safe, 1/250 is borderline; you could probably get away with it on a moving shot, but you might see some swirling grain patterns on a non-moving/static shot.
can we see compression test between the new version and the Fe version
I was a big fan of the L35FE, because it was the only adapter that did the flip for you. Because of that, and its extraordinarily low price, I was willing to overlook some things like questions about construction quality, or 1.5 stops of light loss. With the Extreme, those are no longer questions. This thing goes toe to toe with the mini35 now, and delivers sharper/clearer images with much less light loss than a mini35. It's much better, overall, than the L35FE (and it should be, since it's twice the price). But at the introductory price of $1200, there's nothing else like it.
Jon Wolding September 26th, 2007, 03:37 PM I called Letus to get a few questions answered:
- length of unit: ~135mm (depending on stepdown rings)
- F/R vertical offset: 44mm
- an adjustable Adapter-to-rails mount is currently in the works. From what I understand, it will consist of a post that attaches directly to a threaded hole in the bottom of the adapter.
- a bayonet mount (for cameras like the HPX500) is also in the works.
It all depends on the footage, but this looks good.
Benjamin Richardson September 26th, 2007, 07:01 PM Sounds great. Will this adapter come in a version form the cannon XL-h1?
I second that! This is truly amazing, I would love an XL version though.
Ram Ganesh September 28th, 2007, 12:11 PM does it work with HD100 ?
Does this replace the LetusHD100 version?
Jamon Lewis September 28th, 2007, 03:56 PM Quyen says that he has a "Extremed" HD100 version coming in 3-6 months... I'm looking for it too....
Phil Bloom September 29th, 2007, 12:18 PM convinced me. Am in the queue. Looks too good to be true. I have just bought an XDCAM EX and I think this could be perfect with it.
Teodor Miljevic September 29th, 2007, 04:02 PM A question to Quyen. Will the new hd100 extremeversion have the same 1,9 crop factor or will it cover the whole 35mm field of view?
Paul Jefferies September 30th, 2007, 07:15 PM I wonder if there will be a letus introduced with the JVC mount, but a non-flip version, to suit the HD200 and HD250 which have their own built in image flip?
Toenis Liivamaegi October 2nd, 2007, 02:14 AM Would the Extreme work with smaller cams as well as with bigger ones like with Canon HV20 and A1? From what I have experienced when a adapor works fine with one it will vignette vith the other...
Cheers,
T
Phil Bloom October 2nd, 2007, 04:33 AM Is that the Canon A1 or Sony A1?
Toenis Liivamaegi October 2nd, 2007, 05:57 AM Oh, I meant the adaptor interchangeability between the Canon XH A1 and Canon HV20 without adjustments to the optical system.
Another thing that keeps me on this board lately is that when will the evergreen sharp-or-not bokeh issue pop out as light loss and so called sharp-edged bokeh quality are quite a bit related so you can`t get both as fas as I know. But that`s the issue with only really boring content.
Cheers,
T
Andrew Ravani October 2nd, 2007, 03:47 PM Hey folks. I am working with the Le brothers as a product rep. I have a Letus Extreme and some Canon FD lenses (24mm f2.0, 50mm f1.4, 200mm f2.8) attached to an HVX 200 that I use to demo the Letus Extreme. It is available for you to fiddle with and do some test footage in NYC. I am happy to meet with you to let you see what this thing can do. It is a truly amazing device and brings a lot of excitement and fun back to shooting. If you want to get on a list for a demo day to be held at a large NYC photo video retailer, send me an email and I will put you on the list. - dravani@gmail.com

Raul Navarro October 5th, 2007, 06:12 AM Directly from Quyen himself:
- Will Letus EX work with HV20 without vignetting?
There will be no vignetting.
- How long would it take setting Letus Ex each time you need it?
Set up will be less than 5 minutes (also depending on the rail system you have)
I'll be using it with HV20 and Z1 so I think Extreme will be my choice.
