We mostly shoot with the Sony HVR-V1U. Is there any drawback when capturing V1U footage to my NLE with the consumer model HDR-HC1 camcorder? We have used the HC1 to capture with seemingly no visable problems, BUT I notice that the V1U footage shows wrong camera data when played back on the HC1. Usually stuff shot with the V1U at 1/60th shutter shows as 1/30th when played in the HC1. F stop values are incorrect often too. Why is this? The reverse is true too. HC1 footage camera data is incorrect when played back on the V1U. We have three HC1 cameras and two V1U's and this issue is present when using any combination of cameras.
From what I understand, all Sony HDV decks and cameras can handle the 24p and 30p modes in playback. So, I would guess that the HC1 can be used to stream progressive footage into my NLE software (Vegas 7e) successfully. Any pitfalls to be aware of?
Thanks!
Ian
