The Panasonic BTLH80W monitor is powered by an Anton Bauer battery. Does anyone know of an adaptor that would allow the use of Canon camera batteries?

I don't think the voltage / current will be compatible. I haven't seen any Canon LiOn batteries with the capacity close to one AB battery.

Canon LiOn batteries are mostly rated at 6V or 7.2V whereas AB are 14.4V batteries. The power of one AB battery is 90WH or 160WH.

The power consumption of the Panasonic LH80W exceeds the capability of at least 4 Canon LiON batteries - assuming you can crank up the voltage to 14.4V from 7.2V.

Thanks for the response TingSern.

My pleasure.

Checking my Panasonic manual, I note there is an external 12V DC XLR 4pin connector. Again, the problem is Canon LiOn batteries don't produce 12V either. You need a specialised 7.2V to 12V DC converter, which is very hard to find. Plus a specialised casing to accept the Canon LiOn batteries.

Too much hassle.

Is anyone powering a LH80W from a Panasonic camera? If so should i up my battery requirements when ordering the Panasonic HPX500 camera with Anton Bauer batteries? I assume the upside is reduced weight / better balance - but how much drain is this 7.9" LCD in addition to camera power requirements? Anyone have this setup with real world experience or any advice on if its better just to have a dedicated AB on the LH80W? BTW, I plan on having the LH80W mounted to the HPX500. Hytron Batteries or Dionic?

If you connect the 4 pin external power to the BTLH80 monitor, you can tap the power from your HPX500. I know from experience a fully charged Dionic 90 will power the LH80 for about 4 hours continuously. I have no idea about power consumption for HPX500 - I have HVX202.

Also, the fully charged Dionic 90 (fresh from AB charger) registers as 90% full on the BTLH80 power display. I have never seen it gone above 90% so far.

I am powering both a Sony PDW-F350 and the LH80W with a AB Hytron 140. I use a powertap cable to the monitor. Works for tripod use fine.

I use the Panasonic BT-LH900....
We have used our Anton Bauer batts...TrimPak 14's...and they last about 2 hours...on continuously.

I recently purchased a small powersupply for the monitor. Because of the professional 4 pin ac connector (which I love)...I didn't want to have to take a large powersupply around with me.

This little "laptop like" powersupply is awesome and powers the monitor perfectly.
