Any insight would be appreciated...

It seems that the HD110 is unavailable everywhere. I have checked with local sources here in the SF Bay Area and B&H also says they are "accepting orders." I have feelers out elsewhere but I am not optimistic :-(

Rumor (?) has it that the government placed an order for several hundred units and availability has just dried up? Anyone know anything?

Thanks

Wow, I thought someone would have some info about this. It remains a mystery...

I try to buy local whenever possible but I was hoping a site sponsor might actually speak up!

Tapeworks Texas rocks, man. I'd definitely hit them up if I were you.

To finish out this thread I have to say a big THANKS! to Scott Cantrell at Tapeworks Texas. He did come through to get me my HD110 and he did it with such style! Very (very) competitive price (despite the tight market) and his advise about accessories, tapae, etc. was excellent. He did evrything he said he would and more and ended up delivering me my camera about a week sooner that I thought I'd get it.

This is my second success story with Scott and Taperwoks Texas and I'd surely go back to him for anything I need.

Great news - glad you could get one!

I'm not in a tearing hurry for mine, but did order it in September so I could get the Anton Bauer promotion from JVC - which requires that you send in the paperwork in October. But if there are no cameras (or almost no cameras) to be had it's a little hard to see how this is going to work.

Anyone have a contact at JVC that would be appropriate to ask about this?

Got mine in September, sent in my rebate materials and I am set to go! Of course, you know that the reason they had the promotion is to move cameras out so they could move something around. Now they'll either drop the price, introduce something new or reconfigure the camera! :-) Ahhh, technology!
