Hi, I'm in the DC area and I'd like to try a V1 before buying one from B&H.
Any suggestions? If you know a store where they also have the Canon Xh-A1 that'd be great, so I could compare the two.
Thanks
Larry

Hi Larry, in all honesty, if you try locally then you should buy locally. Look at it from the retailer's point of view... why should they let you put your hands on their cameras if you're not going to buy from them? What's in it for them if they're not going to get the sale?

Try local = buy local.

Otherwise you could balance the cost of renting one for a weekend vs. the cost of just going to New York to try it out at B&H in person (they have a large hands-on demo area there, as does our other sponsor Abel Cine Tech).

I should go to NYC. I've had such good experiences with B&H anyway, why look elsewhere. I remember when I bought my PD 150 and I had one with the dreadful hiss, they exchanged it without questions.

OK, let's look at the train schedules.
