Hello again, everyone! I got a new one for you guys/gals...

I'm a high school student, and I'm thinking of what I should do for college.
What is the advantages of going to film school? I know people say its a great experience and it helps you to focus your vision. But does it really help you in the long run? Will taking film school get me into cinematography on the big screen? Or is it just a fancy thing to add to your resume? Is film school required to get on certain jobs?
Sorry to ask so many questions, I'm just wondering if its really worth what it cost...

I'm also into the wildlife scene; would going to film school contribute to that at all?

If it is really worth going to, would you have any suggestions as to where to go? A place you went to, or heard of thats suppose to be good (links are great! :)? I wish I could stay local, but I don't think there is any around my area.
I heard some mixed reviews about one up in Vancouver, BC. Anyone here go to it? Would you recommend it if you did?

I'm just trying to plan ahead, that way when I get out of high school I don't have to panic to take care of it all then.

Any thoughts regarding this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hi Gabriel,

Chris has merged our existing film school threads into one big 17 page thread here: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=11156

Please have a look at this and post any followup questions there instead of creating a new thread on the same topic.

Thanks!
