I'd like to buy a rode svm for my sony hc96,
are they compatible? Anyone tested?

Unfortunately, Sony decided to create it's own accessory shoe, so only Sony accessories will fit on the HC96. Also, it doesn't have an audio input, so only Sony microphones with the "Advanced Accessory Shoe" will work.

Thank you Edward,

I think Sony VMC-k100 adapter needed.
What i want is to remove the awful wind noises from my records
but after some research today, i ordered a product from Rycote, "gustbuster". I hope it will word fine for me.

The VMC-K100 will allow you to connect the mic, but you will still need a shoe adapter, like this one (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/133276-REG/Bescor_VB50_VB_50_Universal_Shoe_Mount.html) to mount the microphone. Hopefully the gustbuster will be enough, though.

Sony's marketing policy...
I'd like to buy a Canon HV in very near future, Rode Svm is compatible with it? I've watched a video review about the Rode-svm and it impressed me too much :)

I am sorry for lot questions...

The HV20 does have a mic jack and a regular shoe, so the SVM will work.

Umit:

I have the Rode SVM and am extremely pleased with it's performance as a general stereo mic. The Deadcat windmuff that comes with it is very effective at taking care of most wind noise.

Most of the time I use mine on a lightweight light stand just out of view or suspended from a boom attatched to that stand, and connected with a 16' Radio Shack extension cord.

This mic has not let me down yet.
