View Full Version : Circular or Linear polariser Leslie Wand August 24th, 2007, 06:33 PM filter on v1p. does it matter (ie. auto focus / aperture readings) leslie Ed Quinto August 24th, 2007, 07:07 PM We use Linear, camera seems to work just fine. Marcus Marchesseault August 24th, 2007, 07:08 PM I use a linear. From what I've read, circular was only needed for a few cameras for a short time. The polarized light focus mechanisms apparently are not in use much anymore. The VX2000 I had was probably built in 1999 and it did not need a circular polarizer. I believe cameras use contrast detail to check focus. This is why cameras have trouble focusing in low-light situations. When the light is low and there are no contrasting details and the gain noise comes up, there is nothing to focus on. Leslie Wand August 24th, 2007, 11:01 PM thanks - there's quite a difference in price.... leslie |
