In an other tread there were some differences with the import of files from Sony DR-60 to your editing station
If you activate Cache-Recording, the V1E will always write the last 14 second **BEFOR** you press the start button, to you DR-60.
This file will be named HDV xxxxx1.m2t (one)
The clip between start and stop, will be named HDV xxxx2.m2t (two)
So both clips will have the same “name”, only varying by 1 and 2
In opposition to some other disk recorders, DR-60 can count up to more then 16’000 Clips, so cache-recording is no problem!
-----------------------
Under regular condition you will not need the cache-clips (xx1), only if you press the start button too late.
From the DR-60 I transfer the clips each evening to an external laptop-hard disk. At home I transfer all clips from the external disk to a video-raid (1TB)
From here, I can import (Copy or connect??) the files to my editing suite (Avid Liquid 7.2) by using an import tool „get all xxx.m2t-files”. This way, you will have the cache-clips also.
As I usually don’t need them , I use an other procedure:
On Desktop, Go Start, Search, get all “”HDV *2.m2t”” from the proper place. You will get a long list of -2.m2t-Files. For security, copy them to a new folder. Now, when you import files from this folder to your project, you only have the clips you intended to create, and not the cache-clips.
If you should need one of those, it’s easy to import this as well
