Hi,

Can anyone tell me the best solution (for under $1,000) I can use to color-correct my indy film for viewing in theaters on the big screen?

~ Shot on a JVC-HD110U, HDV 720p
~ Using Final Cut Studio 2 with the new Color application
~ Currently only have one 22" LCD monitor 1680 x 1050

Thank you!

I think only a Blackmagic Intensity and a good small Bravia LCD connected via HDMI is going to come in around $1000. Probably going to be over.

This is not ideal, but much better than using a computer monitor.

the problem here is if you cannot test the projector before any correction, you will not able to know what to correct.
some projector are weak in dark scene, other tends to burn whites, some tends to give green, blue, red cast on picture...
if you picture is ok, you can expect it will be ok on the big screen too, but you never know....
the only way would be to calibrate your monitor with the projector.
LCD computer monitor usually give a very flashy picture (with nice green and blue) while projector give a more pastel tone (red are usually bad too).
