Just curious what the cool-looking Pentax K10D is closest to, functions-wise, etc., if I were looking at another camera similar to it?

I'm guessing maybe the Canon 30D and the Nikon D200 or D80. Speaking of which, is the D80 or D200 closer to the 30D?

Thanks,

Heath

Looks similar to the D80. In fact, it even looks like they copied the styling and control placement. The D200 has an all metal body and is more expensive. Can also shoot 5 fps, can the K100 do that?

But that Pentax has builtin image stabilization which is a nice feature. Nikon bodies don't have that, you need to get their VR lenses.

I think the K100D is probably closer to the D40 and XT than anything else. I'd probably go with the D200 over the D80 or K10D if and when I upgrade.

K10D is pretty close to the 30D 40D, D80 in spec, although it does have it's internal IS and weather seals...
