What is the best most economical tapeless solution for jvc proHD cams? I know "best" and "most economical" usually have nothing to do with the other. :)

It is the only DTE drive that can encapsulate the m2t into quicktime, and also display status information on the VF. If you only need m2t files then there are other portable DTE solutions like the FS-4HD (http://www.focusenhancements.com/solutions/catalog.asp?id=3). The most economical (but not compact) method is probably to use your laptop with an old version of DVRack (which has been purchased by Adobe and renamed OnLocation (http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/onlocation/)) or a Mac with FCP5.1.2 +, HDVxDV or DVHSCap. Of course only DVRack/OnLocation can automatically record when the camera REC button is pressed. The other software I mentioned would require an operator to 'roll' when needed. BTW, we have a forum dedicated to tapeless acquisition. http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/forumdisplay.php?f=60 Joseph A. Benoit August 15th, 2007, 01:06 PM Hello i use a DR-HD100.I guest you could say its made for JVC PRO HD Cameras I have a 110 love the DR 100 with it. For me it makes Shooting Hd/SD so easy after shooting you just dump your files down to your computer for editing. I paid $1395.00 from B&H for mine. also I did'nt have to buy a BR hd50 deck at about $2700.00 Just a thought JOe |
