I need to shoot a brief interview with someone in Burbank - has anyone any experience about how aggressive police are in respect to permitting requirements there?

Hey greg we shot a commercial in parts of griffith park it was at night so we had to do the full legit thing, you may be able to get away with an interview if you keep it real low key and maybe away from the roads. That being said I don't think I've ever officially shot in an L.A. area park with a crew (except for once in malibu) with out getting checked out for a permit. A lot of those park rangers have nothing better to do then sit aroung looking for independent filmmakers... That being said when we had an official park representative on set for that night shoot they were absolutely worthless, (we asked one thing from them "could you turn off the sprinklers where we're shooting" and they said oh yeah no problem, didn't do it and we lost all the lenses on a source 9 light.. good times I'm not a fan of shooting in griffith park) so I cna't say that I would encourage someone to go that route either. Best of luck.

Wahoo 1000 posts of bad advice and questions from me!

Nick, thanks for the reply and sharing your experiences. Sounds like an area of LA to avoid.
