Greetings everyone,
This place has been a great source of information for me. I'm approaching the 1st anniversary of owning my HD100UA this month and would like to start giving back. For starters, I know that when I purchased my camera I really enjoyed seeing it perform in different shooting environments/situations. Here are a few clips from some work I've done with the camera in the past year.
1. This is a "trailer" for a play (Hitchcock Blonde) at the Alley Theatre in Houston. I was hired to shoot BROLL during rehearsals and then edit together a trailer. It was challenging because I had no idea what I was shooting, where the action was on stage or what sort of color temps I'd be dealing with. I would just catch it as it happened the best I could.

2. On a related note, I edited together a montage of different broll I shot for this theatre to try to get other similar work. Interesting enough I began doing this work before I bought the HD100, so some of the footage was shot with an HVX200 that I rented (some in HD some in DVCPRO 50)...can you tell which is HD100 and which is HVX200. Disclaimer-one shoot was shot before I figured out how to set my back focus. Hey-I'm not use to shooting with a non-fixed lensed camera.

3. This is a short piece from a fund raising video I shot with the HD100 and edited. It's was for a fund raiser gala for the Fire Fighters Foundation of Houston on 9/11 of last year. The interviews were shot on the HD100, everything else in the sample clip is from supplied material.

4. And for now, last but not least, a pro-bono PSA I did for a friend that runs a teen crisis hotline. The Houston Aeros were a sponsor of the organization.

Most of this stuff is a little out of date. I recently shot a project for a client in Africa about pediatric AIDS a couple weeks ago. I'll try to post some clips from that shoot in the next couple days. I also have a small piece that I shot in a prarie in west Houston that shows off the nice depth of field of the stock lens. I'll post some stuff from that soon too. And...before my trip to Africa, I bought the JVC wide angle lens converter. The day it arrived I shot some test with and without the converter in the office. I'll find a place for that too.
Thanks again to everyone for all of the great information I've gleaned here. I've learned a lot about the camera over the last year and hope to share my footage and newly gained knowledge to anyone that might find it useful.
All best,
john Carrithers
