I'm new to all this camera stuff. So I'm really confused about aperture, shutter, gain, and other things of that nature. THe manual for the XH-A1 assumes that you already know what they mean, because they don't tell you what it does but rather what you can do it seems...Can anyone help me with this? What is the shutter used for? I know when you turn it really low, it's really blotchy...but when it's higher it looks like the kinda stuff they use during fight scenes on movies.

If I were you, I would get this training DVD
and just start shooting as much as possible. It's the best way to learn.
