Hi Guys,

Final Cut Express HD doesn't recognize the A1 on my G5 or my Mac Book Pro. Oddly, imovie instantly pops it up as well as my HV-20 camera. I'm thinking of buying Studio 2, but can only imagine how mad I'm gonna be if the situation persists after that expenditure. Any suggestions?

Studio 2 will recognize it OK. I'm using FCP 5.1.4 and all is well, both in 60i and 24p modes.

I have noticed the following on my PC:

Sometimes XP takes over and assumes this to be a "generic" Microsoft DV unit and then Sony Vegas don't recognize it. Reboot usually helps, sometimes.

With this in mind my *very* cheap tourist Panasonic DV NEVER EVER fails to be recognized when connected.

But, this is PC...
