This is some pre-production test footage I shot with a Canon XL-H1. It was shot in PAL 25f and downconverted for web compression.

This is not a film trailer, just footage shot in a lighting test. There are no lights used in any of the shots, everything is natural existing light. No reflectors, etc. All footage was shot hendheld with the stock Canon lens.

The film is called (Forsaken - The Forgotten Orphans of Malawi) and is about the AIDS orphans of South-Eastern Africa. Production is scheduled for October 2007.

...and just the right music - children singing - that got me.

Things like this can slap a big dose of perspective on life in a heartbeat. Wonderful piece. Please let us know when the project is done. Best of luck, with a most worthy project.

Great work.

One suggestion. If you inter-cut the silent titles with the singing and smiles it would be 10x more powerful. Just a thought.
