When capturing video and audio into PPro 1.5.1 w/Cineform 4, the defalt is video plus stereo audio tracks. If I only record one track of audio to the camera, an interview for instance, I am forced to have two tracks of audio in my captured video, one w/audio and one empty. I have been making a submix from these tracks to mono to take care of this issue. I am wondering if there is a better way of doing this... I have tried the Make Mono command, witch is great except that the audio and video are not kept in sync and must be handled as seperate entities, a pain!!!

I'm in the midst of a similar situation, and I just apply the "Fill left" audio effect to the audio clips to put the left audio into the (empty) right track as well. Seems to work.

At what point do you use the FILL LEFT or FILL RIGHT Effect? Can you apply it to a clip in the Project Window, Source Monitor, or a Track?

I did it right on the timeline. I think the help files tell you exactly how to do it.
But I just dubbed my final HDV output tape to DBeta, and there was still only one audio track. So either it doesn't work or, more likely, I screwed something up. I'm sure I did it wrong.
