Kaku Ito July 29th, 2007, 05:37 AM Well, I was going to catch it something little further, but this is what happened.

Kevin Railsback July 29th, 2007, 08:31 AM Wow, that was pretty amazing and scary!
Kaku Ito July 29th, 2007, 09:28 AM Yeah, now that I think about it.
All I heard was this buzz around the pole then lightning flashed later. So, I didn't realize that was originated from the pole until I saw the video.
Gene Crucean July 29th, 2007, 10:13 AM Maybe I'm missing something here but the close ones look like they are the same as the far away ones. Play back and forth frame by frame and look at the patterns.
Kaku Ito July 29th, 2007, 10:34 AM hm, yeah I realized the patterns were the same.
But then why the close ones apear first?
Gene Crucean July 29th, 2007, 11:45 AM Yeah I don't know. Maybe the codec is freaking out with a really fast and bright flash.
Kaku Ito July 29th, 2007, 09:46 PM I heard a buz from the electric pole first then saw and heard the flash in the back. You can see one of the flash is traveling on the pole, it must come from the ground.
Dean Sensui July 30th, 2007, 02:53 PM Kaku...
Looks like the link isn't working. I'm getting a message saying the site is under maintenance.
Lightning does, in fact, move from the ground upward in what's known as a "return stroke". And sometimes this can consist of several blasts of energy and not just a single bolt.
Dangerous stuff. At certain events it's not unusual to have several people standing in the vicinity of a lightning strike get knocked off their feet as the discharge spreads across the ground.
And lightning bolts have been known to burrow several feet into the ground to connect itself to underground wiring or pipes.
Kaku Ito July 30th, 2007, 06:43 PM Hey Dean!
Gee, I was very close to what was happening like 5 meters away from the electric pole.
Kaku Ito July 31st, 2007, 12:32 AM Okay, the site is back and running.

Dean Sensui July 31st, 2007, 04:48 AM Hey Dean!
Gee, I was very close to what was happening like 5 meters away from the electric pole.
Wow. That was close! You're a lucky guy!
Kaku Ito July 31st, 2007, 07:02 AM I don't feel so lucky nowadays, but i guess I use up my luck on these things.
Matt Burton August 1st, 2007, 05:21 AM On a side note, check out the BMX clip. Watch close as on the last trick (bunny hop table) the dude's mobile fone pops out of his pocket and smashes onto the back peg and then onto the floor.
Not such a lucky escape for him :(
Kaku Ito August 1st, 2007, 07:00 AM Yeah, this clip is what we really cracked up on when I first served two years ago. There's a clip shows why he has a ripped pocket. I will post it later.
