DOF footage no adapter- video
I have been messing around with my HDR-HC3 and my DSLR macro lens for macro videos and I made a discovery yesterday. If I put my 30mm +18 close up filter with my 180 3.5 macro lens I can focus and get a DOF effect.
Here is the video http://lucasberg.com/home/index.php?...d=48&Itemid=27 Im getting a wierd effect in the bokeh I think because my +18 close up filter is convex. It is clear in the center but funky at the edges. Do you think if I used a different close up filter with a flatter lens fould I get better bokeh ? Any help would be helpful. |
Does not appear to be DOF to me. It appears to simply be distortion. It is almost like there is a spot in the center in focus and everything else outside of that spot is out of focus regardless of it's distance from the camera. Does that make sense?

yeah, it looks as though its an effect you'd put on in post (no offense, it just looks that way) It is distortion, looks like a quick zoom effect to me...

You guys are right . After reading how the DOF machines work and from what you guys said I think that my macro lens was just putting an effect around the edges while letting focus through the lens.
Thanks guys Joey |
