35mm DOF adapter with digital camera?

Has anyone seen or played with hooking up a digital still camera (with video capabilities of course) to a 35mm DOF adapter? I'm still new to this particular forum, so I'm slowly learning how all this works, but I want to know if it's possible. Any pics or forum entries that you've seen?

Thanks,
Alphonse

Hi,

Oddly enough, I want to do this with the SGpro and my Nikon D70s to demo the HD/resolution capabilities of the SGpro!

Tried with a Canon S410 digital point-and-shoot. In still mode it works okay. In video mode it switches to a fixed focus (no zoom) so it was unable to fill the whole frame. I guess it would depend on the still cam.

So I guess you would need a camera that could zoom when shooting video. Am I right assuming macro focus would be selected if the camera lens is close to the gg?

Alphonse,

For the S410, you couldn't engage the macro focus function while in video mode either. But if your still camera is capable it would work better. You could also try putting a macro diopeter in between to help the camera but it may not be enough without zoom. At least with the S410 plus a +10 Macro it wasn't enough. But for still mode these functions all work.

Wayne,

Do digital SLRs like the D70 have a video function?

No video on dSLRs as SLRs have mirror box between lens and sensor so almost all digital SLRs don`t even give you any other than optical preview of the shot, no electronic viewfinders/screens etc.
The best dSLR`s give you 10 frames per second though.

Cheers,
T
