How is this new adapter a "Purely Optical Adapter"?

It uses a LSD screen (Light Shaping Diffuser). Interesting, but it should be in it's own thread.

Thanks for the link. I actually have been through dozens of LSD screens and found out that the screen from cell phones work the best and if you have a broken one lying around, it doesn't cost you anything. I have video of my LI-35 on a different thread.

To clear up some confusion the 2video's you've seen on this particular thread had NO ground glass. It was exactly as described in the video and in my post. Igor had posted a screen grab from a thread that used Light Shaping Diffuser which I called "Li-35". I used the same spacers and achromats from my previous adapter for this. I can see where you think that this had used a LSD screen.

The achromats were 51mm 129fl. I found him through another guy here on Dvinfo that posted his spinning DIY adapter.

I mean, JVC couldn't do it... what's your trick?

I have try it, but result is at least strange. Very hard to focus on moving objects. It is not so shallow DOF on objects that are over 1.5m away (It looks like something under 16mm camera, but you can tweak it in combination with both focus rings). FOV is different then on regular adapter because it depends of how low is f number. When you closing your lens apperture you actualy closing FOV. It shows some potential, and picture is bright and sharp. But this is not an 35mm adapter. More like some sort of macro. Interesting experiment.

Igor's statement is pretty accurate. The dof is just under 16mm depending on distance.

that looks very interesting..how much does that go for? and how would you be able to calculate what mm you would need? where are the experts at?
