Stabilizing and focusing with an adapter

I noticed tonight with Halloween that there are alot of shots with a very deep focus - mostly on the steadicam. I am assuming it is because of the difficulty focusing and moving. Do they usually have one person op the steadicam and a focus puller as well?

As I understand it, focus pulls on a steadicam are usually achieved with a wireless FF, making it outside the realm of most DOF adapter users. However fantastic shots can be achieved if the focus is left alone and the subject is kept within the focus range. it's not often the focus changes much on a steadicam rig anyway, and it's apparently easy to adapt the lack of a steadicam focus pull into many of the projects I've seen.

Use wider lenses (something like 28mm) and keep aperture closed as much as possible and it shouldn't bee too hard to maintain focus.
