Luke Springer May 18th, 2006 09:43 PM

But it is only $299

Thanks,

Tim, the creator of the indifocus, sent me a cine-pitch gear attachment free of charge that swaps out with the foamy thing. The trick, however, is finding gears to gear your lenses with...

Tim has those as well, and he is great with customr service. :)

Ben Winter May 20th, 2006 10:22 AM

He does?! I tried emailing him about that and he never responded. Maybe I'll shoot him another email...

OK. I am also looking into having my foam wheel on my Indi Focus swapped out for a gear wheel.

I sent Tim an email today asking that he send me a gear wheel and a wheel for my Canon 35mm FD lenses that I use at the end of the LETUSXL Flip.

Do you have a picture of your setup with the gear wheels he sent you?

Michael, when I saw you posted I knew to expect a negative criticism. But when I looked at the pic again, this time I had to laugh.

Actually to me it more resembles an automotive oil filler cap...

Honestly, I didn't mean to put it down at all. As it seems to be a DIY, I was wondering if he used a lid cap or what he used.

I have touched that toy. It's not the oil filler cap even though they look alike. Thanks.

So what's it then? I'm sure it's not custom made.

Why do you call it a "toy"?

Quyen Le May 25th, 2006 02:29 PM

I don't think it's custom made either. I called it "toy" in no mean saying it's quality is not good. It's indeed quality built stuff. Isn't this toy to some of you? Thanks.

Yeah I just wasn't sure if you ment "toy" as in cheaply made or "toy" as in "i gotta new toy the other day". I guess you were meaning the second example. Just curious is all. Seems like a decent deal to me.

Devon Lyon May 25th, 2006 08:09 PM

Regarding the Indi Focus, Tim is sending me a gear to swap out for the foam wheel and also 3 lens gears, which he said will fit my Canon FD SLR lenses. So, since I've had the Indi Focus for a few days, I can tell you it is well made and the action is very smooth. I am looking forward to the gear-on-gear as it will be much more precise and will eliminate slipping.

So, the Indi Focus system with the gears at right around $400 is a great way to go, if you ask me.

Michael Maier May 26th, 2006 08:03 AM

So is that knob plastic or metal?
