I'd go with the Nattress set - re:vision fileds kit is good - but nattress is i think just as good and a great all round set of filters.

jim,
for PC absolutely best free tool is Virtual Dub or Virtual Dub Mod. Magic Bullet and Reelsmart are of cause over the top but they're not so far from vdub.

I have VirtualDubMod 1.5.0.1 and there is under Video->Filters->Add->Deinterlace. I usually choose Blend fields together (best).

This one works quite nicely when there isn't too much fast movement involved. Way better than normal deinterlacing.

The standard Virtualdub deinterlace isn't very good IMO. Simple blending reduces the (already low) resolution and that is not an option for me.

I prefer FieldsKit among the expensive ones, I also know that it in fact is used a lot by professionals. Download some different plugins and compare the results. Aplparysoft deinterlacer as I mentioned earlier gives very good results for its price, nearly as good as FieldsKit.

I haven't tried Nattress or Magic Bullet but from what I've read, they both give good results.

I've had the same experience so I agree with you. But Alparysoft gives the best results among the VirtualDub plug-ins. On the other hand, it isn't free.
