It has 800x480 and is 4:3 switchable. It could be good, but I'm not so sure that it will do 4:3 for anything but VGA. There is only one way to find out...
The only possible downside as far as the specs are concerned is the lack of s-video. I don't really know if this should be a deal breaker. |
Kurt August,
Is the Hami 8" LCD 16:9 or 4:3? |
Arthur,
It's 4:3. 800x600 px. That's fine for me, since my camera is native a 4:3 chip. By the time I get a new camera, prices on light high resolution lcd panels will have dropped definetely. Overscan is acceptable, about 10 pixels at every side. It looks as sharp as my very big television, but not any sharper. I really would like a one-on-one pixel monitor. But, well, it's just too cheap for the quality to bother too much. I guess it's the small artist's solution. Wink wink. Oh yes, don't use it for color correction... the black are not very black |
i use a latest generation powerbook for monitoring. Any miss-givings to that?
It is terrible for stabilizer shots. But is using a powerbook recommended?? |
Somebody hacked the Hami 8" LCD to accept S-video. Doesn't look that hard.
