Is there such a thing as a GG with Viewfinder where i put my lenses for preview?

I've seen directors in the field watching across some type of telephoto lenses. it looks like a telescope.

I'm wondering if there's such type of viewfinder with an integrated ground glass where you can put your SLR lenses to get a preview as you would normally get with old reflex cameras.

I was planning to get a cheap reflex on ebay to do this, but then i tought that maybe could exist something like this.

I have a couple of EF lenses that i would like to use.

If i buy a dead EOS camera like this one:
will i be able to see the DOF / Framing in the viewfinder in a similar way?

without having to turn the camera ON?.

Yes, the optical path through the viewfinder will work without any batteries in the camera.

Yes just get a cheap SLR.

Or if you wish get a full frame DSLR to get stills you can download instantly.

That's how the first modern groundglass 35mm adaptor got started. P+S Technik built a director's viewfinder with a groundglass screen, then somebody wanted to get an idea what it looked like on video and it went from there. The next step was to move the groundglass to deresolve the texture.

No SLR ones, the cameras are so light so why bother but there are motion picture examples.

It would be much cheaper to buy an old SLR than one of these
