Cavision adapter AND lens support
Hello everyone,
I am wondering , the Cavision rod support is to take the strain off the adapter right? What about the lens attached? How is this supported? Do the rods need to be longer and a support like this http://www.cavision.com/rods/lenssupport.htm needed? I guess a 50mm lens does not need extra support but a longer or a zoom lens does, right? Also, is the support bracket that comes with the Extreme compatible with the cavision RS-15IIMQ and RS-15IIM rods? Thanks for your time |
If you have rod support for the adapter, most lenses will be fine. We use the simple rule of if the 35mm lens has a tripod collar then we use additional lens support for the 35mm lens.
If you don't have rod support for your adapter, then any lens bigger than an 85/1.8 should probably have some support. |
Thanks for the reply. A rod length of 250mm (10") is adequate for supporting both the adapter AND a 100mm Nikon lens?

For that you should be fine since the 100 isn't very big. 10" isn't goiong to be enough if you ever want to run a larger lens like a 70-200/2.8.

Thanks EJ!
Anyone knows whether the support bracket that comes with the Extreme it's compatible with the cavision RS-15IIMQ or RS-15IIM rods |
