Synching 24P or 30I Video to Audio
 

I would assume if you record 48Khz audio, it would be easier to synch external audio to video running at 24P vs 30I or 60I. Not to knowledgeable on this topic, so any insights would be appreciated...thanks.

It doesn't matter as much as you'd think, depending on your NLE. If you're using Vegas, this isn't even a consideration due to how Vegas manages audio. You just simply do it and Vegas will allow you to stretch the audio to sync if necessary.
If you're in Premiere, Audition will allow you a lot of leeway.
FCP sucks at this, but with BIAS, it's no big thing to lengthen the file by a few frames if necessary.
I don't know Pinnacle's new Edition well enough to comment.
Avid will need ProTools, and while I've not done this ever in PT, (I don't use PT for video ever any more) I'm sure it's equally simple.
Recording at 48K resolution simply saves an up or down sample, and helps preserve the integrity.

the number "48" in 48khz has no connection with it being 2x24..... lol

It's just your sample rate. It's the sample rate of DVDs...and it sounds nice. :) Better than CD in fact.

And if you got Vegas....phbt....it's EASY to synch...if you gots a clapper...it's even easier.

Clappers do not solve synching issues, only provides a start point.

But it's a true that recording 32, 44 or 48Khz hasn't anything to do with sync, as long as it's not locked to a video signal alrady recorded.
