Audio Panning Issues in Premiere
Hi!
Ok, I have a problem. While working on a current project, I opened an audio clip in Audition from Premiere. I tweeked it and made the (stereo) clip mono, using only the audio from the left track. Saved and went over to Premiere. However, when played in Premiere's timeline, I here sound on the left only. It shows this way in the waveform display as well. But when I preview the file in the project tab, sound is coming from both left and right. I tried opening the audio in Audition again and changing the mono clip back to stereo (obviously, the same thing on both left and right). Again, it sounds fine in Audition and when played from the Project tab, but in the time line, it only has audio on the left track. What's my problem? It seems to be a project setting that I need to change... Thanks! Oh, and I'm running Premiere Pro 2.0 with the Production Studio Premium CS@ license. Dale |
In audio effects--use fill left or fill right
Dale,
In Premiere, open audio effects then click fill left. This fills the left channel over the right. Mike |
Thanks, Mike. I new it had to be something simple like that; I just couldn't find it.

My pleasure.

One way of going from stereo to mono is to create a mono submix channel in Premiere mixer and route stereo channels there.
