Premiere 1.5.1 Effects
 
Im trying to add a grad blue to the top 1/3 of my edit but cant seem to set it to only top 1/3? Premiere seems to set the grad blue to the hole image; any ideas?

Make it in Photoshop first.

The clip I want to use the effect on is about 45seconds? PS cant deal with avi can it?

Or do you mean create the blue 1/3 grad then overlay it into premiere? If so how do I go about that?
